Why Jarbas sometimes doesn't sync on its own — and how to fix it

When you register a sale or a stock movement without internet, Jarbas saves everything on the device and tries to send it automatically as soon as the connection comes back — even with the app closed. On some Android phones, a battery-saving setting blocks exactly that. Fixing it takes less than two minutes.

Why this happens

To save battery, manufacturers like Samsung, Xiaomi, and Motorola put apps that aren't open to "sleep," cutting off their background internet access. Jarbas keeps trying to sync normally, but the phone's own system blocks the connection before it even leaves the device. Three settings fix this for good.

Samsung (Galaxy, One UI)

  1. Open the app's battery settings and remove the restrictions.
Android Settings -> Apps -> Jarbas -> Battery -> Unrestricted
  1. Allow the app to use data with the screen off.
Android Settings -> Apps -> Jarbas -> Data usage -> Allow background data usage
  1. Take Jarbas off the list of apps the system puts to sleep.
Android Settings -> Device care -> Battery -> Background usage limits -> Move Jarbas to "Never sleeping apps".
  1. If Data saver is turned on system-wide, exempt Jarbas from that restriction too.
Android Settings -> Connections -> Data usage -> Data saver -> Jarbas: allow

Xiaomi, Motorola, and other brands

The path is named differently, but the idea is the same: look for Jarbas's app info page inside Android Settings -> Apps and check two sections — one about battery/power saving and another about background data usage. In either one, pick "unrestricted," "allow," or "no restrictions" instead of "optimized" or "restricted."
Xiaomi (MIUI) usually has an extra step called Autostart — turn it on for Jarbas as well.

Pure Android (Pixel and similar)

Manufacturers closer to stock Android restrict fewer background apps by default, but if the issue shows up, the path is: Android Settings -> Apps -> Jarbas -> Battery -> Unrestricted.
