It's the trade between speed and finish. Each registered printer has its own mode.

Where it lives

1. Go to Configurations › My Receipt › Printers.
2. Tap the printer.
3. Tap Printer mode.
4. Choose Text or Image.
5. Tap Save.

"Slower and higher quality"

Jarbas draws the receipt and sends it to the printer as a picture. The paper comes out just like what you see on screen: your shop's logo, the font sizes, the bold, the column alignment, the accents right.

It's the default mode.

The cost is time. Sending an image is heavier than sending text, and a long receipt takes longer to come out.

"Faster and lower quality"

Jarbas sends only the letters, and the printer writes them in its own font. Much faster.

What you lose: the logo isn't printed and the layout is simpler, in the printer's own basic look.

The Pix QR code and the customer signature still print in both modes.

Which to choose

Choose Text if:

• There's a queue at the counter and every second counts
• You print a lot of receipts a day
• The printer is old and chokes on images
• The Bluetooth connection drops mid-print

Choose Image if:

• The receipt is the face of your shop and you want the logo on it
• You print little and the wait doesn't bother you
• In Text mode the receipt comes out ugly or misaligned

Accents coming out wrong?

If Text mode shows odd symbols instead of "ç", "ã" or "é", it's the printer not understanding those characters. There's no setting for it: switch to Image, where the text is drawn and always comes out right.

Test before deciding

Once the printer is saved, go back to its screen and the Print a test button appears.

Print a test in each mode and compare the two pieces of paper side by side. Ten seconds and you know which suits your business — and no article decides that better than your own printer does.
