How to find your best selling day, month and time

How to find your best selling day, month and time

Jarbas already works out when you sell most. Use it to staff up, schedule promotions and set opening hours with data rather than guesswork.

Where to see it

Open Statistics. Under each figure — Billing, Confirmed Orders, Average Ticket, Profit — there's a line like:

Best day: 15/03

Day, month or hour depends on the period

Jarbas picks the breakdown that makes sense for the period you're looking at:

Selected period What it shows
One day Best hour
Week, month or 30 days Best day
Year or long periods Best month

Want to know your best time of day? Select a single day. Your best month? Select the year.

Each figure has its own best

The best day for billing isn't necessarily the best for profit. A Saturday can bring in a lot on low-margin products, while a quieter Tuesday leaves more profit behind.

Worth reading both lines before deciding where to invest.

Seeing the full chart

Tap the metric to open its own screen. Grouping tabs appear at the top — hour, day, weekday, month — each showing the chart and table for that breakdown.

The weekday tab is the most useful for routine: it merges every Monday, every Tuesday and so on, answering "which day of the week sells most" rather than "which date sold most".

The available tabs change with the period: a single day only has hour; long periods offer hour, weekday and month.

Taking the data with you

On the metric screen, the top bar has PDF and Share — the latter produces an image of the chart, handy for sending to your accountant or business partner.

Putting it to use

  • Best hour — put more staff on at that time, and don't schedule breaks there.
  • Best weekday — your quietest day is the natural candidate for a promotion.
  • Best month — shows your seasonality; use it to plan stock ahead.
