How to connect Google Analytics to your catalog

How to connect Google Analytics to your catalog

With Google Analytics connected, you get to see how many people visit your catalogue, where they come from and which products they look at.

Before you start

You need a Google Analytics account with a property created, and that property's Measurement ID.

In Google Analytics it lives under Admin › Data streams › (your web stream). It's a code starting with G-.

How to set it up

  1. Go to Configurations › Online Catalog › Social Networks and Others › Integrations.
  2. Tap Google Analytics.
  3. Paste the code into the Google Analytics Measurement ID field.
  4. Tap Save.

You'll see the confirmation "Google Analytics successfully integrated".

The same shortcut exists under Configurations › Integrations › Google Analytics.

What Jarbas sends

Page views — every screen the customer opens in the catalogue: the home page, a category, a product, the cart.

Purchases — when the customer completes an order through the catalogue, Jarbas sends the purchase event with the value, the currency and the order items.

That's it. Jarbas doesn't send other e-commerce events such as add-to-cart.

How long until it shows up

Google Analytics realtime data appears within minutes. Full reports usually take up to 24 hours to consolidate.

If you want to check right away, open your catalogue on your phone and look at Analytics' Realtime report.

How to remove it

On the same screen, tap Remove Integration (the red text). The code is erased and the catalogue stops sending data immediately.

If you see "Your catalog is not currently active"

The integration only exists with an active catalogue. Activate the catalogue first, then come back.

Who can set it up

Account administrators only.
