Grid, small grid or list: choosing your catalogue's layout

Three ways to show your products. Which one is right depends on whether you sell on the photo or on the information.

Where to set it

  1. Go to Configurations › Online Catalog › Display Options.
  2. Tap View mode.
  3. Tap the layout you want. The preview on screen updates immediately.
  4. Tap Save.

Grid

Two products per row, large photo.

"Best for viewing the product, ideal for well-produced photos."

It's the Jarbas default. Pick it if your photos are good: clothing, accessories, cakes, crafts — anything bought with the eyes.

Small Grid

Same as the grid, but with a smaller photo and more products on screen at once.

"Best for viewing the product, ideal for well-produced photos. Show more products in the same space."

Good for large catalogues, when customers need to scan a lot before choosing.

List

One product per row, small photo next to the name and price.

"Better for viewing product information and faster navigation."

Pick it when the name and price matter more than the photo: grocery, wholesale, parts, products that all look alike.

Customers can switch

What you choose here is the catalogue's starting layout. On the products screen there are two small buttons that let customers toggle between grid and list whenever they want.

One caveat: the small grid only shows up for customers if you set it as the default. If your default is the regular grid, the grid button always goes back to the regular grid.

Which to pick

You can't tell on paper. Open your catalogue on your phone with each of the three and see which makes your products look best — two minutes and you decide by looking.
